Position Summary:

We are in search of a Senior Marine Mammal Specialist to enhance our initiatives focused on Naval Marine Mammal operations. This role encompasses the responsibility of training marine species, particularly dolphins and sea lions, to assist in naval mine countermeasures.

Core Duties:
  • Serve as the chief handler for various marine mammals requiring specialized training.
  • Assume a supervisory role within the training team, managing multiple trainers and marine animals.
  • Implement behavior modification strategies and advanced training methodologies.
  • Formulate comprehensive training programs and objectives.
  • Possibly oversee a marine vessel team.
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to junior Marine Mammal Trainers.
  • Engage in potential diving activities as part of training operations.
Qualifications:

To thrive in this position, candidates should possess:
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in marine mammal training.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or a High School diploma accompanied by 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain DOD Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with free release training techniques.

Compensation Range:
