Job Summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a skilled Tractor Trailer Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely hauling trailers of waste or recyclables to a disposal site or recycling plant.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a truck in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Timely and efficient pick up of trailers and delivery to designated destinations.
  • Maintain and update route sheets, conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and complete logs.
  • Interact with internal and external customers, maintaining a positive work atmosphere.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and understand a map.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job, including prolonged physical exertions.
  • Excellent truck driving and maneuvering skills.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
Working Conditions
  • Must have a valid Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement.
  • Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain prior to hire.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age.
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
  • No DUIs or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
  • Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.
  • Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
