Job Summary

The Learning Support Specialist II (LSS2) is a professional tutor responsible for providing academic support to students in economics. The LSS2 will work with students one-on-one or in small groups to help them achieve a deeper understanding of the subject matter. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of economics and be able to communicate complex concepts effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplement students' understanding of economics through one-on-one and group tutoring sessions
  • Develop and apply appropriate learning and study skills to support student success
  • Maintain documentation of all tutoring sessions and generate reports for departmental use
  • Provide course instructors with communication and information to facilitate student learning
  • Attend tutor training sessions and stay up-to-date with instructional methodologies

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Economics or a related field
  • Two or more years of teaching and/or tutoring economics experience in a higher education environment
