Job Description

City of New York seeks a highly motivated and skilled Vulnerability Remediation Specialist to join our dynamic security team.

Job Summary

As a Vulnerability Remediation Specialist, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization's digital assets by identifying, assessing, and mitigating vulnerabilities in our IT systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Implement security measures to protect data and systems from potential threats.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Conduct regular system backups and disaster recovery planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT-related projects and initiatives.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices to recommend system improvements.
  • Identify and implement process automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users for hardware and software-related issues.
  • Create and maintain system documentation, including configurations and procedures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in computer science or a related computer field and two (2) years of satisfactory full-time software experience in designing, programming, debugging, maintaining, implementing, and enhancing computer software applications.

Alternatively, the candidate may have a four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six (6) years of full-time satisfactory software experience as described above.

A satisfactory combination of education and experience that is equivalent to the above requirements may also be considered.
