Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor to teach a variety of courses in Computer/Electronics Engineering Technology at Norfolk State University. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and a proven ability to work collaboratively with others.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a range of courses, including digital electronics, electronic devices, electronic circuits, computer networks, wireless communications systems, industrial control systems, programmable logic controllers, and embedded systems/micro-controllers.
  • Contribute to program and curriculum development.
  • Advise and mentor students, and participate in recruitment activities.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation to engage with industry on applied research projects.
  • Participate in ongoing assessment and accreditation activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair.
Requirements
  • An earned B.S. degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • An earned M.S. degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • An earned Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. candidate in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Experience in teaching on the higher education level, P.E. licensure, and ABET accreditation experience.
  • Relevant industrial experience.
  • Experience with Blackboard Technology.
  • Demonstrable track record of successful teaching and scholarship.
