Your commitment to patient care will be essential as you navigate patients through their imaging experience, addressing their inquiries and concerns with compassion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
(90%) Patient Imaging Duties
- Conduct thorough patient screenings prior to examinations, ensuring the correct identification and procedure are confirmed.
- Provide clear explanations to patients regarding the imaging procedures, positioning them appropriately for optimal results.
- Execute both routine and advanced imaging techniques on specified body areas, assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions, while ensuring minimal need for repeat scans.
- Adjust imaging parameters as necessary, employing dose reduction strategies to enhance patient safety.
- Foster positive interactions with radiologists, referring physicians, and colleagues to maintain a collaborative work environment.
- Adhere strictly to physician directives and safety protocols to safeguard yourself, patients, and fellow staff members.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace, promoting safety for patients and coworkers alike.
- Uphold ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
- Regularly inspect and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring it is clean and functional after each use.
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
(5%) Departmental Support
- Assist in keeping the imaging protocol manual current and facilitate software updates.
- Monitor and manage medical supply inventory, placing orders as needed.
- Support the training of new staff members by sharing knowledge and technical expertise.
