Job Summary:

The Egg Packaging Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of packaged eggs. This involves reviewing labels and date codes to confirm they are legible and match the product information. The successful candidate will be responsible for packing eggs in accordance with customer requirements, while maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow established procedures for handling product and packaging materials to meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Ensure only high-quality eggs are packaged, with no missing, broken, or leaking eggs.
  • Verify that packing materials are free from defects and resolve any immediately correctable issues.
  • Notify machine operators or management immediately if any packaging problems are encountered.
  • Pack quality products in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining a steady pace on the packaging line.
  • Assist colleagues as needed and maintain a clean work area.
  • Understand and follow all safety rules and conditions, reporting any unsafe conditions to the plant supervisor immediately.
  • Comply with all USDA regulations, Hen Haven Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, Safety Programs, and Food Defense Programs.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience as an egg grading machine operator is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Strong reading and comprehension skills to follow instructions and document.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, twist, bend, walk, and stand for long periods of time on different surfaces.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to reach and lift above the head.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
