About the RoleWe're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometric Technician to join our team at Warby Parker. As a key member of our eye care team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient experiences and supporting our doctors in providing top-notch eye care.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary liaison between doctor and patient, establishing a strong rapport and ensuring seamless communication.
- Perform preliminary clinical data collection, including autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, ocular motility testing, retinal imaging, and lensometry.
- Support in-person and video-assisted eye exam appointments, ensuring efficient patient flow and minimizing wait times.
- Deliver insertion and removal training to new contact lens wearers, as well as train additional team members on this process.
- Support patients and store teams throughout the booking process, including appointment confirmation, annual exam outreach, and contact lens follow-up.
- Manage patient flow through the eye exam process, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Provide support to doctors in maintaining accurate and meticulous records of collected data.
- Assist with report preparation for other medical professionals as needed.
- Ensure adherence to governmental regulations and company procedures, including HIPAA/PIPEDA.
- Prepare and maintain an organized exam room, replenishing supplies, updating contact lens trials, and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness.
- Support the retail sales team as directed by the Store Leader.

- Effective team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent multitasking, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize appointments and maintain efficient patient flow.
- Able to think outside the box and adapt to changing situations.
- Precise and comfortable with technology, with the ability to quickly learn and effectively use new medical applications.
- Excited to work alongside doctors in a high-volume retail setting.
- 1+ years of experience in a medical environment supporting doctors.
- Exceptional knowledge of eyewear and ability to accurately describe features and benefits.
- Working knowledge of G Suite.
- Previous experience with optometry, electronic health records, or medical care.
- Familiarity with healthcare technology systems and equipment.
- Completion of an Optometric Technician training program or CPOT certification.
