Job Summary:

Trend Micro is seeking a highly skilled HW Test Engineer to join the TippingPoint System HW Development Team. The successful candidate will work with a talented team to design and verify next-generation network security platforms. The primary responsibility will be to develop, maintain, and execute automated HW tests to run across voltage and temperature corners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop automated EDVT Test Environment consisting of temperature chambers, terminal servers, and network switches.
  • Develop automated EDVT Tests for new designs, with the ability to understand the new designs to effectively exercise the HW.
  • Collaborate with HW Design Engineers to implement HW Design features to aid in automated HW Testing.
  • Work with HW Design Engineers, FPGA Design Engineers, and SW Developers to develop a full system test strategy and implement necessary scripts for exercising specific subsystems.
  • Document the test environment per platform, including detailed documentation of individual tests, test procedures, and test reports/results.
  • Collaborate with the Design Team to debug test failures with an emphasis on root-cause-analysis and drive to closure.
  • Qualify components for specific commodity devices or specific multi-source components within the design.

Requirements:

  • BSEE with 2-5 years of experience in EDVT Test Development for data center or networking products.
  • Ability to read and understand system-level HW block diagrams with basic knowledge of CPUs, Microcontrollers, FPGAs, and Network Switches.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and PCB CAD designs.
  • Python programming experience.
  • Embedded Linux experience and shell scripting experience.
  • Experience with instrument control and automation.
  • Basic HW Debugging Skills including the use of Oscilloscopes and Logic Analyzers.
  • Basic understanding of networking is a plus.
  • Experience in x86 Server Architecture is a plus.
  • Experience in networking equipment design is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
