Job Summary

The Food Production Specialist uses culinary expertise to prepare a variety of menu items, including specialty dishes for patients and employees. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
  • Work as a short-order cook, preparing made-to-order grill items as directed.
  • Perform set-up, arrangement, and follow-up activities for catered events.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure high-quality food production and presentation.
  • Modify preparation of meal items to conform to dietary restrictions for patients on modified diets.
  • Document food production data and temperatures prior to and during meal service.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • One to two years of job-related cooking experience required.
  • Food Handler certificate and Serve safe or TAP food handler certification.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of computers and ability to provide daily service to customers.
Physical Demands
  • Sit or stand for a prolonged period of time.
  • Able to lift twenty-five (25) pounds from floor to waist using proper body mechanics.
  • Able to transfer or position clients greater than fifty (50) pounds with assistance or assistive devices.
  • Requesting assistance is expected.
