Endoscopy Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Endoscopy Nurse to join our team at South Kansas City Surgicenter, a member of Prime Healthcare. As an Endoscopy RN, you will specialize in assisting with endoscopic procedures and ensuring patient safety and successful completion of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
Responsibilities:- Conduct pre-procedure assessments, reviewing patient medical history, allergies, and current medications
- Assess patients' health status, focusing on symptoms related to the digestive system
- Assist gastroenterologists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as endoscopies, colonoscopies, and biopsies
- Start IV lines for administering sedation or other necessary medications
- Ensure endoscopic equipment is sterilized and functioning correctly
- Monitor patients' vital signs and level of consciousness during and after procedures
- Provide post-procedure care, including dietary advice and activity restrictions
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
- ACLS 30 days upon hire and maintain current
- Minimum of one year experience in an acute care or outpatient surgery setting or G.I. lab
