Position Summary:
We are actively looking for a committed Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care Unit. The ICU Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering specialized care to patients facing severe health challenges in the intensive care unit.
In a high-stakes environment, the ICU nurse evaluates, observes, and manages patients with intricate medical issues, ensuring prompt interventions, continuity of care, and optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, neurological conditions, and hemodynamic metrics to identify changes or deterioration in health status.
- Oversee and manage mechanical ventilation, adjusting ventilator settings, oxygenation, and airway management in partnership with respiratory therapists and physicians.
- Execute advanced nursing techniques, such as arterial line placement, central venous catheter insertion, and hemodynamic monitoring, adhering to evidence-based practices and maintaining strict aseptic protocols.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social workers, to create and implement personalized care plans, coordinate interventions, and ensure effective communication among team members.
- React swiftly to medical crises, including cardiac arrests and respiratory emergencies, initiating appropriate actions and coordinating resuscitation efforts according to established guidelines.
- Maintain precise and comprehensive electronic medical records, documenting assessments, interventions, treatment responses, and patient status changes to ensure continuity of care and facilitate communication among healthcare providers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in critical care or intensive care nursing preferred.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment:
- High-acuity setting with exposure to critically ill patients, medical emergencies, and life-saving interventions.
- Physical demands include prolonged standing, lifting and transferring patients, and exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials.
- Collaboration with a diverse team of healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary environment.
