Job Title: Steamfitter

CGL Facility Management, LLC is seeking a skilled Steamfitter to join our team. As a Steamfitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of steam systems, including pipes, fittings, and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide cost estimates for steam projects and work with contractors to complete these projects.
  • Responsible for every aspect of installation and maintenance of piping systems associated with steam.
  • Responsible for installation and repair of gauges, valves, pumps, and automatic controls related to steam.
  • Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of low-pressure and high-pressure systems used for heating domestic water and hot water loops.
  • Establish and maintain preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance on steam systems.
  • Knowledgeable about steam regulatory valves and different style steam traps and their applications.
  • Complete all documentation required in the Department of Correction's TMS work order system.
  • Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
  • Properly schedule outages when routine repairs are needed.
  • Understand prints and use submittals to understand steam layout for the facility.
  • Install, modify, repair, and maintain low and medium-pressure steam and condensate systems and hot water supply and return piping systems used for both heating and process functions.
  • Follow technical manuals, codes, diagrams, and previous experiences to plan work procedures and make repairs.
  • Ability to perform various types of welding skills.
  • Inspect completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace while and after performing specific tasks.
  • Perform work in accordance with established safety procedures and according to the standards of CGL Facility Maintenance, OSHA, and our clients.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to work general trade problems.
  • Experience with condensate piping systems required. Cutting and threading pipe experience is preferred.
  • Experience in start-up and shut-down procedures surrounding high-pressure steam.
  • Must be a self-starter and motivated.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and work night shifts and be on call when needed.
  • Ability to replace Automatic Sprinkler heads for sprinkler systems.
  • Must become familiar with the design and layout of the facility.
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance responsibilities; minimum 2 years' maintenance experience in Plumbing for commercial environments.
  • Must be a team player, have a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and desire to succeed while representing our firm with the best possible service to our clients.
  • Reliable and dependable attendance and punctuality are essential for this position.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license.
