Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Lab Technician to join our team at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital. As a Medical Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory testing, providing high-quality patient care, and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Handle and prepare pathology tissue and cytology samples for review by the pathologist under the supervision of a Medical Technologist or direction of a laboratory supervisor, manager, or director.
- Perform specimen retrieval from OR, preparation of tissues for, processing, batching, and referral of cases to referral laboratories as required.
- Appropriately seek guidance from medical technologists, supervisors, department head, and medical director in the review and interpretation of clinical laboratory data.
- Perform quality control procedures per protocol and complete necessary documentation to maintain specimen integrity throughout all processes.
- A 2-Year/Associate Degree in a Science discipline is required.
- Microbiology technical specialty is preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a high-volume microbiology is preferred.
