We are seeking a skilled Truck Switcher to join our team at Federal Express Corporation. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers to and from our unload/load doors and throughout the yard.
Key Responsibilities- Perform trailer switches, including hooking and moving parked trailers from the yard to load/unload doors or vice versa.
- Communicate with management and/or central control to coordinate trailer movements in the yard.
- Document trailer moves using the Yard Management System or switcher cards.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
- Understand and demonstrate effective yard switching safety processes and procedures.
- Valid driver's license and Department of Transportation (DOT) file.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL - Class A) to operate in interstate commerce.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding work duties and safety methods.
- Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
May work in hot and cold temperatures, in an environment with fumes, and in an area with loud noise.
This is a full-time position with a competitive hourly rate of $27.75-$28.75 per hour. We offer a range of benefits, including health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
