Job Description

At American National Bank & Trust, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Leasing/Lending Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to play a key role in the solicitation, origination, underwriting, and administration of loans.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough interviews with customers to assess risk and gather information for loan applications.
  2. Analyze loan applications and make informed decisions within established policy guidelines.
  3. Document loan decisions and maintain accurate records.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with customers to meet their credit needs and promote the bank's loan products.
  5. Evaluate, authorize, or recommend approval of commercial, real estate, or consumer and lease credit loans.
  6. Market the bank's loan products to a diverse array of potential borrowers.
  7. Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and collateral evaluations to determine the feasibility of loan requests.
  8. Maintain a positive community presence and perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  1. Proficiency in 10-key data entry, spreadsheets, word processing, and basic typing.
  2. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to write speeches and articles for publication.
  3. Mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate figures and amounts, and apply concepts such as fractions and ratios to practical situations.
  4. Critical thinking skills, with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  5. Supervision received under general direction, with the ability to work from policies and general directives.
  6. Planning and decision-making skills, with the ability to perform work operations that permit frequent opportunity for decision-making of minor and major importance.
  7. Mental demand, with intense mental effort required to analyze, solve, or plan highly variable, administrative, professional, or technical tasks.
  8. Accuracy, with the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
  9. Public contact, with extensive contact with various diversified sectors of the public.
  10. Employee contact, with contact with other departments or offices, and frequently with individuals in middle-level positions.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

This position requires regular sitting, standing, talking, and hearing, as well as frequent use of hands to handle or feel objects. Occasional climbing or balancing may be required, and the ability to lift, move, push, or pull up to 10 pounds is necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and color vision. This is an indoor position with a moderate noise level.

Required Education and Experience:

A four-year college degree or equivalent experience in a field related to leasing, accounting, marketing, business administration, or a similar field is required. Additionally, five years of related experience and/or training, and two years of related management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience, is necessary.
