Role Summary:

The Warehouse Operations Specialist is crucial for ensuring efficient shipment preparation, including all necessary documentation and scheduling. This role involves the picking, staging, and loading of materials, contributing significantly to warehouse organization, cleanliness, and inventory control. The individual may also serve as a backup for the receiving clerk as required. Responsibilities may evolve based on the company's operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assigns specific lots on sales orders within the manufacturing system, ensuring lot numbers are accurate and shipping the oldest materials first.
  • Generates picking tickets with confirmed lot numbers for product retrieval.
  • Prepares shipping documentation, including tickets and labels.
  • Affixes labels to pallets and verifies the accuracy of all data.
  • Collaborates with the Logistics Coordinator to arrange pickups or shipments per customer specifications, adhering to freight terms and appointment schedules.
  • Ensures all shipments align with customer orders to maintain satisfaction.
  • Informs management of any unfulfilled scheduled shipments.
  • Takes photographs of products prior to loading for shipment.
  • Handles loading and unloading of trucks as necessary, demonstrating knowledge of proper load positioning.
  • Obtains freight quotes as required.
  • Organizes and saves all shipping documentation on the network/SharePoint.
  • Works with the Logistics Coordinator to prepare international shipping documents, including commercial invoices and NAFTA forms, with an understanding of incoterms and tariff codes.
  • Maintains responsiveness to corporate reporting needs while fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Analyzes and standardizes procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Cross-trains in receiving clerk duties.
  • Assists with inventory cycle counts.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Contributes to special projects as needed.

Daily Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinating activities to verify and document incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Operating forklifts.
  • Ensuring data entry accuracy in the manufacturing system.
  • Preparing items for shipment.
  • Maintaining general cleanliness in the warehouse.
  • Scheduling daily shipments.
  • Monitoring and recording temperature and humidity levels in storage areas.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of assigned forklifts.
  • Wrapping and storing finished goods.
  • Organizing and storing raw materials.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of forklift operation
  • Certifications: Forklift certification required
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Able to multitask effectively
    • Capable of working in both office and warehouse environments
    • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
