Position Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Stokesdale, NC

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Department: Engineering

Reporting To: Capital Projects Manager

Role Overview

  • The Electrical Engineer (with Siemens expertise) is responsible for executing planned maintenance tasks to prevent machine failures.
  • Diagnose root causes and address any electrical issues promptly to meet production efficiency and waste reduction goals.
  • Offer electrical controls and process engineering knowledge to enhance production line efficiency and minimize scrap through the design and implementation of various projects.
  • Required expertise includes:
  • Proficiency with Siemens PLC systems.
  • Applying electrical controls and automation skills to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Identifying process enhancements and imparting electrical knowledge to key team members.
  • Programming and troubleshooting control systems.
  • Strong design and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in the planning and execution of preventive maintenance schedules to avoid machine failures.
  • Initiate projects aimed at optimizing utility usage and reducing consumption.
  • Leverage controls and process expertise to pinpoint opportunities for efficiency improvements, enhancing production output and reducing scrap.
  • Accurately diagnose machine failures and implement solutions to minimize production downtime.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to improve operational processes.
  • Provide electrical controls expertise for both production line and plant service equipment.
  • Investigate and resolve equipment issues with effective solutions.
  • Lead or participate in design reviews and project requirements as the electrical authority for the facility.
  • Maintain electrical standards in accordance with Ontex Global requirements.
  • Participate in internal audits of workplace practices.
  • Oversee electrical contractors on-site.
  • Contribute to focused improvement initiatives to enhance safety, ergonomics, efficiency, and cost reduction.

Qualifications

  • Support the training and development needs of the site electrical team.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with Siemens systems.
  • Creation and training of technical documentation as necessary.
  • Implementation of Lean principles within the area of responsibility.
  • Provide feedback to the electrical department for the enhancement of maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure achievement of business objectives and production schedules while exceeding product quality standards.
  • Responsibilities may vary based on the employee's training and skills, with all tasks performed to specified standards.

  • Specialized equipment and control systems.

  • Managing multiple control systems and PLC brands (Siemens and Allen Bradley).
  • Enhancing operational consistency through improved controls and Lean methodologies.
  • Collaborating with a diverse workforce on a rotating shift schedule and engaging with international engineering support as needed.
  • Timely and precise troubleshooting of equipment failures to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Effectively resolving machine breakdowns to minimize downtime and meet production efficiency targets.
