Role Overview:

  • The Inventory Control and Quality Assurance Specialist is a versatile position, tasked with overseeing the inventory management of materials and finished products, as well as formulation, packaging, and order fulfillment.
  • This role also plays a crucial part in Quality Control by executing dye labeling reactions and preparing samples for analysis.
  • Additionally, the position is responsible for receiving and restocking laboratory supplies.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the security and accuracy of inventory for materials and finished products through meticulous transaction documentation and conducting physical cycle counts to reconcile discrepancies.
  • Assist in managing physical inventory within a controlled environment for raw materials, intermediate products, finished goods, analytical samples, and QA Retains.
  • Conduct small-scale chemical reactions (dye labeling) for Quality Control assessments.
  • Process internal requests for samples from inventory and prepare samples for quality testing.
  • Perform aliquoting and vialing of sensitive finished goods using both manual and automated methods.
  • Execute lyophilization processes for finished products.
  • Conduct weight checks and packaging of sensitive finished goods within a controlled environment.
  • Prepare packaged products for quality assurance inspections and shipments, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
  • Receive deliveries of chemicals, materials, and laboratory supplies, verifying shipment accuracy and specifications.
  • Log materials into the inventory management system and restock in designated storage areas.
  • Support document control and data archiving activities as required.
  • Promote a safe working environment by recommending safety measures and participating in Environmental Health and Safety programs.
  • Address corrective actions for identified hazards and report unsafe conditions to management.
  • Participate in safety audits of equipment and laboratory processes.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities or projects as assigned by the reporting manager.

Education & Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Biology, along with 0-2 years of relevant experience is typically required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to adhere to standard operating procedures is essential.
  • Experience with manual and automated filling/dispensing processes is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a chemistry laboratory setting is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with working in a controlled environment is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Experience with inventory management software is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and adaptability to changing priorities in a dynamic environment are essential.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
