Transportation Monitor Professional

Van Pool Transportation, NRT Bus, Trombly, and Salter are dedicated to providing superior transportation services to schools, students, and communities. Critical to our success is the performance of our drivers and monitors. This job requires the ability to safely assist students, monitor behavior, and provide guidance as needed. Essential duties include:
Key Responsibilities
- Safely assist students as needed, including helping them enter and exit the vehicle and securing them in car seats and booster seats.
- Monitor student behavior and provide guidance and direction when necessary, reporting unsafe behavior to management.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and Van Pool staff.
- Use Van Pool's two-way radio system and implement corrective steps as assigned.
- Install car seats and booster seats safely.
- Comply with all policies and procedures, including the Employee Handbook, Company training sessions, and bi-weekly newsletters.
- Be available for both morning and afternoon routes.
- Follow written and verbal directions and instructions from supervisors.
- Demonstrate a willingness to work with school-age children with special needs.
- Pass CORI, SORI, and fingerprint tests and random drug screenings.
Physical Requirements
- Perform First Aid and CPR during training and in emergencies.
- Enter and exit the vehicle safely and without difficulty.
- Remove snow and ice from the vehicle during winter weather.
- Complete a pre and post trip vehicle inspection.
- Position wheelchairs and install and secure wheelchair restraints.
- Manually operate the wheelchair lift when necessary.
