CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA)/HOME HEALTH AIDE (HHA)
About the Role:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide high-quality care to our clients in their homes.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide personal care and related services in accordance with State regulations, under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
- Perform tasks assigned by and under the supervision of an RN, who will be responsible for client services provided by the CNA/HHA.
- Avoid performing intravenous procedures, sterile or invasive procedures, other than rectal temperatures or enemas.
- Follow the plan of care to deliver safe, competent service to the client.
- Assist clients in maintaining good personal hygiene and create a healthy, safe environment.
- Prepare nutritious meals as instructed by the nurse.
- Assist clients with ambulation as ordered by the physician and supervised by the nurse.
- Support therapy personnel as needed with rehabilitative processes.
- Encourage clients to become independent according to the nursing service plan.
- Promote mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest.
- Provide simple emotional and psychological support to clients and their families, establishing trust and confidentiality.
- Report any changes in the client's condition or home situation to the staff nurse or Aide supervisor.
- Perform routine housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the client.
- Submit visit reports promptly and incorporate them into the clinical record weekly.
- Confirm weekly visit scheduling to coordinate other necessary visits by staff members.
- Collaborate with community agencies involved in the client's service as directed by the nurse.
- Attend required in-service training.
- Notify the Agency of absences due to illness, emergency leave, normal vacation periods, or special professional meetings affecting agreed service.
- The ability to drive and access clients' homes, which may not be wheelchair accessible.
- Sufficient hearing, eyesight, and physical dexterity to perform a physical assessment and client care.
- The capacity to bend, stoop, reach, and move client weight up to 250 pounds; lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.
- Clear communication skills, both verbally and in writing, in English.
Use of BP cuff, thermometer, stethoscope, and hand washing materials.
