We are seeking a skilled Powder Coat Painter to join our team at our Peoria, IL facility.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will apply powder coat paint techniques to components as specified by written instructions, schedules, and drawings, and inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret specifications or work orders to determine unit or piece(s) to be painted
  • Prepare pieces for coating by protecting parts with heat-resistant tape and ensuring they are free from undesired surfaces
  • Apply powder coat to parts using proper equipment and techniques
  • Visually inspect painted parts according to quality specifications
  • Operate washing and curing oven to ensure proper adhesion
  • Clean and maintain spray booth, production line, and preparation area
  • Assist in changing paint booth filters as required
  • Troubleshoot and rework pieces that fail tests
Requirements
  • Powder paint application techniques and equipment experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read written procedures and understand work orders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adhesion and proper preparation of substrate
  • Knowledge of curing oven operations
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred but not required
Working Conditions

This position is located in an industrial/production environment, with exposure to:

  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm's length, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods of time
  • Arm-Hand Steadiness ' The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
  • Manual Dexterity ' The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Frequently required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and balance
  • Near Vision' The ability to see details at close range
  • Noise levels typical of a manufacturing production environment
  • Finger Dexterity ' The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
  • Intermittent exposure to cold or heat
  • Ability to work in proximity to moving, mechanical parts and machinery

Pay will be based on experience.

All candidates must pass a drug screen and necessary tests for position.
