Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radar Tracking Systems Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for advancing the Integrated Discrimination and Electronic Protection capabilities of the Missile Defense System (MDS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop modeling and simulation (M&S) for radar tracking algorithms to support the Missile Defense Agency.
  • Conduct performance analyses and trade studies on tracking functions.
  • Create and execute medium-to-high fidelity, object-oriented MATLAB M&S incorporating sensing phenomenology, signal processing, detection, tracking, and discrimination functionalities.
  • Provide expertise in radar tracking and sensor fusion.
  • Coordinate analysis activities and products with functional group leads, senior management, and government personnel.
  • Prepare detailed reports and briefings to document analysis results.
  • Present findings to the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
Requirements
  • Strong technical background in radar tracking system methodologies, including state estimation, detection-to-track association, and general track management.
  • Ability to model aspects of tracking systems within a MATLAB simulation environment and support tracking-related analyses.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new physical and mathematical concepts.
  • Experience with tracking systems within elements of the Missile Defense System, including sensor fusion techniques, tracking algorithms for both radar and electro-optical sensors, electromagnetic attack, creation of novel tracking system algorithms, and/or algorithm optimizations.
  • Knowledge of configuration management tools, object-oriented programming, and conducting system of systems analysis and trade studies.
