Houston Methodist is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our patients' care plans.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Texas and the Houston Methodist Professional Practice Model Nursing Practice and Professional Performance.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, physical condition, and personal preferences.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to coordinate patient care, including attending and participating in interdisciplinary rounds as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical research, evidence-based practices, and professional standards to provide the highest level of care.
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Two years of Registered Nurse, advanced practice, or nurse practitioner clinical experience
- RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days
- APRN - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Texas Board of Nursing
- Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, based on applicable patient population, i.e., ACNP, AG-ACNP, ACNPC-AG
- AANP - Credentialed member, American Academy Of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, based on applicable patient population, ACNP, AG-ACNP, ACNPC-AG
- BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA) (not required for Employee Health, Primary Care and Telemedicine departments)
- AP - Prescriptive Authority - Texas Board of Nursing
- DEA - Narcotics License (DEA) within 6 months
