Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Nurse to join our team at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital. As a Clinical Staff Nurse in our ICU, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized patient-centered care to a defined group of patients. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans, prioritize patient needs, and ensure seamless communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process as a problem-solving model to anticipate and plan for patient and family needs.
  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments to identify subtle changes in clinical situations and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain a therapeutic nurse-patient relationship, respecting patient rights and autonomy.
  • Communicate effectively using SBAR in all hand-off situations and document patient care accurately.
  • Collaborate with Care Managers to coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning and ensure smooth transitions of care.
  • Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives, contributing to the hospital's strategic plan and goals.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent required; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience in Critical Care, with a focus on regulatory guidelines and standard of practice.
  • Current California Nursing license and certification in Critical Care Nursing preferred.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred, along with basic computer skills and current BLS and ACLS certifications.
