Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The successful candidate will use their excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills to engage diesel technicians, maintain good morale among the team, and keep customers happy.

The role involves coordinating, scheduling, and auditing vehicle maintenance repairs, including preventative, mechanical, and electrical repair of tractors, trucks, and trailers. You will be involved in hiring, training, and ongoing development of vehicle maintenance technicians to ensure that our highly skilled workforce meets customer expectations.

This is a great position for someone looking to grow into a leadership role with Penske, and you don't need to be a mechanic. The shift for this position is 3rd shift Sun-Thu, 11:00 PM-7:30 AM.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability and desire to work in a positive, fast-paced, and high-energy environment
  • 3-5 years fleet maintenance management experience preferred or at least 3 years of team management in an environment with strong operational metrics
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates or tech school degree preferred
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and web-based applications preferred

Work Environment

The physical demands of this job include frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods. You must be able to safely work at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms and work in all weather conditions. Regularly lifting and moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting and moving up to 100 pounds is also required.
