Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. As an Operating Room Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the perioperative process.
  • Perform scrub functions, including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies, to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, such as hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure, as needed.
  • Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use, ensuring they are properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, medication administration, and other relevant information to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Indiana.
  • One or more years of experience in a surgical or perioperative setting, preferably in a hospital or healthcare facility.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification, or equivalent.
  • Diploma or degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a Level 1 trauma center or similar high-acuity setting.
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
