About the Job

The National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) is seeking a skilled data analyst to join its team in Chantilly, Virginia. As a data analyst, you will play a vital role in providing research, analysis, and visualization support to ongoing audits, inspections, and investigations.

Your primary responsibilities will include conducting data quality reviews, performing data modeling and descriptive analytics, and creating advanced visualizations to support ongoing audits, inspections, investigations, and special reviews to facilitate data-driven decisions, and/or for the identification of potential fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement at the NRO.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse range of data sources, including structured and unstructured data sets, and to apply your skills in data science, computer programming, and mathematics to drive meaningful insights and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct data quality reviews to ensure accuracy and reliability of data
  • Perform data modeling and descriptive analytics to identify trends and patterns
  • Create advanced visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations
  • Collaborate with cross-organizational subject matter experts to implement recommendations

In addition to your technical skills, we are looking for someone who is a strong communicator, able to effectively present complex data insights to stakeholders, and who is committed to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
  • Significant experience transforming qualitative information into quantitative data
  • Significant experience utilizing simple and complex data mining, data cleansing, and statistical analysis to solve data questions and visualization issues
