Primary Responsibilities

The Food Server II exemplifies a work ethic that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of the organization, showcasing professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct. Engages in the continuous quality improvement (CQI) process by completing Quality Control forms and preventive maintenance logs. Maintains a comprehensive understanding of departmental standard operating procedures. This position may require travel between various locations and affiliates.

The role involves working in the dish room or, to a lesser extent, in retail, production, or catering, performing tasks such as general clean-up, dishwashing, trayline duties, transporting food to service areas, and managing waste removal. Follows instructions diligently to uphold high standards of service and quality. Prevents waste by adhering to established chemical use standards and promptly notifying supervisors of any observed misuse.

Additionally, the Food Server II may operate in any area of the department, including retail, production, or catering, executing tasks such as portioning and serving food, transporting meals to service areas, catering, busing dishes, storing and issuing supplies, and cashiering. Prepares food according to recipe specifications, minimizes food waste, and ensures proper care and sanitation of equipment and work areas, while handling food in compliance with sanitary standards. Cash handling is performed with precision and attention to detail. Contributes to positive customer relations, particularly in customer service, by ensuring high-quality service and adherence to sanitation standards. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

Education and Experience

Required:
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred:
  • Prior experience in customer service and/or food service.
  • Ability to perform basic calculations manually or with a calculator.
  • Knowledge of food production and service protocols.
  • Ability to delegate tasks and maintain efficient operational standards.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety protocols, and infection control, along with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
Licenses and Certifications

Preferred:
  • Servsafe certification.
