Position Overview

The Lead Pharmacist at Gifthealth oversees daily pharmacy operations, managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining high patient care standards.

This role involves optimizing workflow, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring accurate medication dispensing.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the Pharmacy Director to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  2. Manage, mentor, and train a team of pharmacists across three locations, focusing on gastroenterology and specialty medications.
  3. Oversee operational processes at all three locations, ensuring smooth dispensing and transfer of medications.
  4. Work closely with the Director and Pharmacy Technician Lead to monitor and improve technician performance.
  5. Coordinate with the Inventory Specialist to manage medication and supply inventories.
  6. Collaborate with the Director and Data Team to establish reporting mechanisms and alerts for medication dispensing and transfers.
  7. Assist the Director in identifying and implementing workflow improvements.
  8. Partner with Patient Care Representatives and Pharmacy Technician Trainers to identify errors and develop retraining initiatives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Pharmacy Supervisor or similar managerial role in a pharmacy setting.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmacy operations and legal regulations.
  • Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Ohio, with a Pharm.D. or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, with significant supervisory experience.
