Key Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment and Management:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations, including patient history, physical examinations, and necessary diagnostic tests.
  • Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic conditions related to spine health, pain management, or neurological disorders.
  • Create and execute personalized treatment strategies, incorporating both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, physical therapists, and pain management experts, to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and provide continuous support and education.

Procedural Responsibilities:

Perform minor procedures associated with pain management, such as joint injections, nerve blocks, or trigger point injections, under appropriate supervision. Assist in both pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients to ensure optimal recovery.


Patient Education:
  • Inform patients and their families about their conditions, available treatment options, and lifestyle changes to effectively manage symptoms.
  • Provide guidance on pain management techniques, including medication adherence, physical therapy, and behavioral strategies.

Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with supervising physicians to maintain continuity of care and adherence to best practices.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care and address any inquiries or concerns.

Documentation and Compliance:
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR) in line with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to all clinical policies, procedures, and protocols, including infection control and patient safety measures.

Professional Development:
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in orthopedic spine, pain management, and neurology through ongoing education and training.
  • Engage in professional organizations, conferences, and workshops to enhance clinical expertise and knowledge.

Qualifications:
Education:
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Family Practice, Adult-Gerontology, or a related specialty.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in orthopedic spine, pain management, or neurology. Experience in performing minor procedures related to pain management is advantageous.

Licensure/Certification:
Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Texas. Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.

Skills and Abilities:
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic capabilities. Proficient in electronic health records (EHR). Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
