Laboratory Science Specialist

As a Laboratory Science Specialist, you will leverage your expertise in medical technology to conduct clinical laboratory assessments and various scientific evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Receive, inspect, verify, and process all materials entering the facility and ensure proper routing to off-site locations. Document all receipts in the Materials Management software system.
2. Communicate any discrepancies between received materials and shipping documentation to the Warehouse Manager.
3. Prepare and manage outbound shipments, including necessary documentation.
4. Oversee the Returned Goods process in accordance with established SOPs.
5. Deliver stock to designated staging areas for various departments.
6. Organize warehoused items in their appropriate storage locations, ensuring stock rotation based on receipt and expiration dates.
7. Identify and report any short-dated materials (less than 30 days of shelf life) to the Warehouse Manager for further action.
8. Assist in conducting cycle counts and full physical inventories.
9. Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures related to Materials and Services Management, Human Resources, Employee Health and Safety, Compliance, OSHA, and CLIA.
10. Evaluate current procedures and propose enhancements to the Warehouse Manager.
11. Support order entry, picking, packing, and delivery of both internal and external orders as required.
12. Aid in the storage and retrieval of records as necessary.
13. Assist in the preparation, receipt, and distribution of internal and external mail.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Previous laboratory experience is essential. A Bachelor’s degree and a current California State Clinical Laboratory Scientist license are required.
Proficiency in reading Ova & Parasite smears is necessary.
