Responsibilities

The Associate Structural Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Performing a wide range of structural engineering analysis and design tasks for new and existing structures
  • Conducting site investigations to observe and document existing conditions and structural deficiencies
  • Performing condition assessments and load ratings of various structures
  • Supervising and assisting in the development of project plans, design calculations, and specifications
  • Providing responses and solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects
  • Mentoring, training, and developing junior engineering staff
  • Supporting the preparation of technical proposals in the pursuit of new work
  • Attending local industry and business development functions


Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering, with a Master's Degree a plus
  • At least 8 years of experience in Structural Engineering practice
  • NY PE required, with SE Licensure a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong mentorship skills
  • Ability to supervise, delegate tasks, and provide guidance to technical staff
  • Understanding and application of NYC and NYS code requirements
  • Experience in using various structural analysis software
  • Ability to multitask, work on multi-disciplinary teams, and consistently meet deadlines
