Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist at Talent Software Services, you will play a vital role in the healthcare team, providing critical care to patients with respiratory conditions. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring patient physiological responses to therapy, consulting with physicians, and working as part of a team to manage patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy, including arterial blood gases, vital signs, and lung function changes.
  • Consult with physicians to discuss patient care and treatment plans.
  • Work as part of a team to manage patient care, including assisting with medical procedures and setting up and operating devices.
  • Provide emergency care, including external cardiac massage, artificial respiration, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Inspect, test, clean, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain charts that contain patient identification and therapy information.
  • Measure arterial blood gases, read prescriptions, and review other information to assess patient condition.
  • Relay blood analysis results to a physician.
  • Make emergency visits to resolve equipment problems when necessary.
  • Order equipment repairs when necessary.
  • Explain health care treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation.
  • Check pulmonary function in patients.

Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program or technical college course for respiratory therapy.
  • Registration or certification by the national board for respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Current RCP license in the state of practice.
  • Current RN or LPN license in the state of practice.
  • Respiratory care, emergency care, and intensive care experience.
  • Must possess a valid and current driver license and auto insurance.
  • Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or client.
  • Strong knowledge of pulmonary function and pulmonary rehabilitation.
  • Experience with respiratory equipment.
