Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our providers and staff to deliver exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Assist providers and other clinical staff with obtaining basic vital information, preparing patients for examination, treatment, and minor surgical procedures.
• Demonstrate competence in clinical skills necessary to carry out assigned job duties, including drawing and collecting blood and other samples from patients and preparing specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Administer vaccines and ordered medications by oral, IM, SQ, or ID routes, and place urinary catheters per protocol.
• Schedule referrals for patients with specialists or outpatient services as requested by the provider, and complete appropriate forms or requisitions needed for referrals or lab testing, including CPT/ICD-9 coding.
• Track system for follow-up appointments related to office visits, laboratory tests, and procedures to regularly follow patients monitoring disease status.
• Provide appropriate and timely documentation in the patient's electronic health record using standardized workflows and processes.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nurse.
• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Illinois for Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification.
