Our diverse product range includes potato chips, cheese-flavored snacks, tortilla chips, pretzels, popcorn, and more, marketed under well-known names such as Wise, Cheez Doodles, New York Deli, and Bravos. We also offer private label products for select retailers, utilizing a direct-store-door (DSD) delivery and merchandising system to reach major grocery chains, local markets, and convenience stores.
Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Mechanic at Wise Foods, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective repair and upkeep of all production machinery, facility infrastructure, and essential services, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and sanitation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs, rebuilds, and maintenance of plant processing and warehouse equipment.
- Install and remove machinery as required.
- Maintain lubrication levels on all equipment and machinery.
- Operate lift trucks, platform lifts, and articulating boom lifts safely.
- Utilize all company vehicles as necessary.
Job Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Knowledge of fabrication principles related to material design and layout.
- Possession of a valid standard driver's license.
- Capability to lift over fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and operate lifts.
- Experience with basic hand and power tools, including wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, drills, saws, grinders, and lathes.
- Proficiency in using a tape measure, dial calipers, and scales.
- Familiarity with pipe installation, tubing, valves, and fittings.
- Moderate skills in ARC, TIG, and MIG welding, as well as acetylene torch cutting.
- Commitment to adhere to all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
- Understanding of safety regulations and practices.
Education & Experience:
Required:
- High School Diploma.
- 1-3 years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing setting.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred:
- Technical or College Degree.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of OSHA and Food Safety regulations.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints/drawings.
