Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a CRNA, you will provide high-quality anesthesia care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia to patients, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the procedure.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes or complications.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to develop and implement anesthesia plans.
  • Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations, selecting appropriate anesthetic agents and techniques.
  • Insert intravenous catheters, invasive monitoring catheters, and perform endotracheal intubation and extubation as needed.
  • Document patient status in the anesthesia record and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform safety and performance checks on anesthesia-related equipment and verify supplies before initiating care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of West Virginia or applicable state.
  • Board certification or recertification by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
