About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work on various cybersecurity initiatives, ensuring the effective planning, management, and successful execution of our information security programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of security issues, problems, utilities, techniques, and solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in designing and implementing all university information security programs and initiatives.
- Implement, configure, and maintain authentication and authorization systems, information security devices, and software applications.
- Collaborate with IT Level 1 and 2 support teams to address security-related matters.
- Conduct security tests of campus computing hardware and software applications/databases.
- Perform risk analysis of new technologies and provide recommendations for implementation.
- Work with other IT staff to monitor and guide new projects and major upgrades involving security systems and personal identifiable information.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred.
- At least five years of computing and information systems experience, with three years in computing and information systems security.
- Excellent troubleshooting and monitoring skills.
- Professional certification (CEH, GIAC, Security+, etc.) is preferred but not required.
