About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Natural Resources Technician to join our team at the Oswegoland Park District.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and preserving our natural areas, including invasive plant management, planting landscape materials, and assisting the Natural Resources Supervisor with planning and evaluation of management areas.

Responsibilities and Expectations

You will be expected to perform skilled labor tasks, operate power equipment and hand tools, follow district safety rules and procedures, and participate in park maintenance activities and special events. You will also be required to use district-owned vehicles and equipment, assist with on-going park maintenance activities, and participate in park and facility snow removal.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of 18 years of age, a high school diploma with some higher education credits in natural resources, environmental science, or horticulture, and a minimum of one to two years of experience in Natural Resource Management. You must also be licensed by the State of Illinois as a certified pesticide operator or become certified within six months of hiring.
