Certified Nursing Assistant

Actors Fund Home, a leading provider of assisted living, skilled nursing, and dementia care services, is seeking a Per Diem Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dedicated team.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide daily routine non-professional nursing care and basic technical nursing care under the direction and supervision of the professional nursing staff. This is a Per Diem (16 hours) hourly position based at Actors Fund Home in Englewood, NJ.
Responsibilities:- Provide care to residents in all aspects of personal care and hygiene, keeping each resident clean, well-groomed, and as comfortable as possible.
- Assist residents with their ADLs (activities of daily living), such as transfers, bathing, hygiene, grooming, toileting, etc., encouraging self-help and independence whenever possible.
- Assist professional staff in rendering treatments and examining residents in isolation, dying, or deceased.
- Assist in arranging transportation, reminding residents of appointments, accompanying residents to appointments or programs as needed.
- Assist residents in preparing for medical tests (i.e., lab work, x-ray, therapy, etc.) and collect specimens as instructed.
- Participate in the development and implementation of residents' Care Plans.
- Answer all call bells promptly.
- Maintain residents' privacy and confidentiality, ensuring that all residents are treated fairly and with kindness, dignity, and respect.
- Report all resident changes in condition or unusual findings as well as incidents and accidents promptly to the nurse on duty.
- Must have an active NJ Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and must maintain active certification.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent certification.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Possess effective interpersonal skills in working with residents, co-workers, families, and various health professionals.
- Be adaptable to change and able to meet crisis and emergencies.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve with minimal supervision.
- Must have an understanding of, affection for, and a desire to work with the aging.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry supplies and equipment.
- Must be able to pass the facility's physical examination upon employment and annually thereafter.
This is a Per Diem (16 hours) hourly position based at Actors Fund Home in Englewood, NJ. Shift requirements include weekend or every other weekend. Available shifts include 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am, or working every other weekend. The successful candidate must be able to cover assigned shifts on a regular basis, including holidays, and should be available to cover vacations/call-outs of other Certified Nursing Assistants on occasion.
This is a non-union position and is not benefits eligible.
