Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is actively seeking a Full-Time Behavioral Health Clinician for our West Side Children's Counseling initiative.

Work Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 11 AM - 7 PM; Thursday 10 AM - 6 PM; Friday 9 AM - 5 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical interventions including individual, family, and group therapy for children aged 5 to 21 and their caregivers.
  • Conduct comprehensive bio-psychosocial evaluations, maintain progress documentation, formulate treatment plans, and update as necessary.
  • Provide referral resources and engage in collateral communication as required.
  • Organize client appointments and follow up on scheduled or missed sessions, documenting all interactions.
  • Involve parents and guardians in the therapeutic process, offering education and support related to the child's challenges.
  • Oversee and report critical incidents necessitating specialized interventions, including mandatory reporting and crisis management.
  • Inform the psychiatrist of significant changes in medication or mental health status as they arise.
  • Utilize a strengths-based approach and adhere to clinical best practices when working with youth.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a behavioral health or social work field.
  • Possession of LSW or LAC credentials.

Fluency in both English and Spanish is advantageous. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster positive engagement with clients, including their families, are essential, along with a strengths-based perspective. Familiarity with the New Jersey children's system of care is highly desirable. Previous experience with children and families in the relevant community is a plus.
