At Salesforce Marketing Cloud, the role of the Software Engineer is essential to the success of our global cross-channel marketing software as a service platform. You will be part of a team that is responsible for ensuring that the Marketing Cloud platform is being supported by a highly available, performant series of Splunk environments.

Responsibilities:
* Take ownership and accountability for one's actions, and be known for meticulous attention to detail.
* Provide effort estimation and complete work based on a schedule of activities in coordination with Operations Manager and Project Manager.
* Participate in crafting, implementing and maintaining custom self-service tools.
* Define requirements for, and/or write/test custom tools to handle system automation tasks (installation, configuration, monitoring, etc).
* Develop proof of concepts (POCs) to evaluate technology fit for real-life use cases.
* Maintain the utmost standard/quality bar in code quality and efficiency.
* Participate in on-call rotation (approximately two times a quarter).

Requirements:
* 3+ years of developing and running monitoring infrastructure.
* Solid understanding of principles and concepts of modern service monitoring systems.
* Experience using object-oriented principles.
* Have programmed using Python to automate repeatable tasks such as deployment, tuning of services.
* Understanding/management of code repositories like Git/Perforce/SVN/CVS.
* Experience with developing for containerized environments.
* Experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Azure.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with DevOps environment.
* Experience with AI / Machine learning.
* Knowledge of Agile Development or Scrum Project Management methodologies.
* Detailed, organized and results-oriented. Demonstrate deep analysis, problem-solving and troubleshooting expertise.
