Software Development Engineer

Concept2, a leading manufacturer of fitness equipment, seeks a skilled Software Engineer to join its engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience working on various projects and codebases, leading and contributing to the development and maintenance of product software in a collaborative environment. They will provide technical support for customers and internal users, manage remote development partners, and support the design and implementation of internal production automation applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage remote development partners and consultants.
  • Responsible for R&D test software to support mechanical and electrical development of machines.
  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of internal production automation applications.
  • Interact with other teams, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Marketing, and Manufacturing.
  • Enable test strategies for new components in upcoming products.
  • Effectively utilize bug tracking and crash reporting tools.
  • Provide customer technical support and bug/problem investigation.

Essential Skills:

  • Significant coursework or degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and strong understanding of UI/UX design principles.
  • Strong knowledge of Operating Systems principles and database design.
  • Understanding of basic testing, coding, and debugging procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for embedded systems and mobile applications.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with the QT development platform.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as USB, Bluetooth, WiFi, Modbus TCP, etc.
  • Some web development experience.
  • Hands-on experience in the design, development, launch, and maintenance of high-volume consumer electronic products.
