Job Title: Fire Protection Designer

We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Designer to join our team at The Panaro Group LLC. As a Fire Protection Designer, you will be responsible for designing fire protection systems for our design-build projects and working with internal staff to develop submittals, shop drawings, BIM models, and field coordination drawings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design fire protection systems for our design-build projects
  • Work with internal staff to develop submittals, shop drawings, BIM models, and field coordination drawings
  • Prepare fire protection system layouts and detailed drawings and schematics to produce a complete set of construction drawings in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Perform accurate design calculations, including hydraulic calculations
  • Procure necessary equipment and materials
  • Attend and participate in job meetings as required for each project
  • Inspect the job site regularly for contract compliance, workmanship, and safety
  • Estimate changes in the scope of work
  • Maintain professional rapport with architects, engineers, general contractors, building owners, installers, and suppliers
  • Manage projects from $25,000 to $5M
Qualifications:
  • Solid understanding of the construction process in its entirety
  • Knowledge of fire protection systems and code requirements
  • Experience in fire sprinkler design using HydraCad, BIM, and Navisworks is preferred but not required
  • 3+ years of experience with Fire Protection Design
  • Some exposure to Project Management is a plus
