Position Objective:

The primary role of the Expeditor is to guarantee that all orders are precise, prioritized based on timing and location, encompass all specialty items, and are free from allergens. Additionally, all items must adhere to HACCP standards and be packaged, labeled, and delivered punctually to the correct destination.

Key Responsibilities:

The Expeditor is tasked with managing order priorities, selecting and packing orders, ensuring quality assurance, verifying order completeness, and overseeing appropriate packaging and labeling. This role also involves monitoring delivery schedules, handling miscellaneous procurement, and ensuring compliance with specifications related to Air Chef/Air Culinaire orders. The Expeditor must confirm that food quality and specifications align with the kitchen-issued standards within the software system.

  • Conduct thorough checks on food quality, ensuring it meets the specified standards and presentation.
  • Engage directly with Air Culinaire clients via phone, email, and in-person interactions to gather feedback on products and services.
  • Communicate client feedback and suggestions to the Catering Director or General Manager to uphold and enhance quality standards.
  • Act as the central authority on quality and accuracy, addressing any immediate issues that may arise.
  • Exercise the authority to request food to be remade or modified to meet client requirements.
  • Resolve all issues in accordance with company policies regarding customer satisfaction, safety, and cost management.
  • Additional tasks may include procuring supplies as necessary and maintaining the cleanliness of vehicles.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control and food safety protocols during delivery.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in line with company uniform guidelines.
  • Assist in assembling silverware units and stocking kitchen items while managing shopping lists and maintaining inventory.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the General Manager to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Safely operate company vehicles while adhering to all local and federal regulations.
  • Cross-train to assist in food preparation or delivery as needed during slow periods or staffing shortages.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Operations Manager.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma is required.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with proficiency in email, internet usage, and basic office software.
  • Familiarity with aviation terminology is preferred, and knowledge of FDA regulations and safe food handling is required.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience in hospitality, food exposition, and delivery is preferred.

Operational Requirements:

Flexibility in work schedule is necessary, including availability on weekends and holidays. Candidates must be prepared to travel as per company policies.

Language Proficiency:

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to apply sound judgment in executing written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use hands for handling and carrying. Must be able to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 40 pounds.
