Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Wildlife Check-In Specialist. This role will provide technical support for our wildlife check-in program, verifying license, tag, and permit information, collecting biological samples, and summarizing and tabulating data necessary for monitoring compliance of take.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify license, tag, and permit information for wildlife check-in purposes
  • Collect biological samples and summarize data for monitoring compliance of take
  • Provide technical support for the district's wildlife check-in program
  • Assist with population monitoring through spotlighting or trail cameras
  • Address human-wildlife conflict and enter survey data
Requirements
  • Experience working in office and field settings
  • Experience recording field data in various weather conditions
  • Experience conducting wildlife surveys
  • Computer skills and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Working Conditions

This position requires a flexible work schedule and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. The employee must be willing to walk, climb, bend, stoop, and safely lift up to 50 pounds. Occasional work at remote stations or job sites may be required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with wildlife and natural resources
  • Knowledge of Oregon's fish and wildlife regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
