Adjunct Faculty, Biology Instructor

Job Description:

Colorado Mountain College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Biology courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of the Biology program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Biology courses as assigned, including lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions.
• Evaluate student learning and assess course outcomes.
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans, course materials, and assessments.
• Engage in scholarly and creative activities to enhance discipline expertise and student learning.
• Participate in service activities, such as campus and college committees, mentoring peers, and participating in assessment activities.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a master's degree in Biology or a related field, or a Master's Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a specifically related field.
• Minimum of one-year full-time teaching experience, or the equivalent as an adjunct instructor.
• Higher education teaching experience preferred.
• An equivalent/applicable combination of education and experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities.
• Experience with pedagogy and teaching methods.
• Strong background in computers and technology.

Working Conditions:

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing, and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 lbs.
