Your Role
As a Sleep Technology Trainee, you will work under the guidance of experienced sleep technologists to develop your skills in conducting essential sleep studies and related interventions. This position is designed for those who are eager to learn and grow in the field of sleep medicine.
Key Responsibilities
1. **Preparation and Setup for Sleep Studies**
- Review patient histories and confirm medical orders.
- Verify patient identity and obtain necessary consent.
- Explain procedures to patients for both in-lab and home sleep testing.
- Select and calibrate equipment for testing, ensuring proper functionality.
- Apply electrodes and sensors according to established standards.
2. **Conducting Sleep Studies**
- Adhere to standard protocols for sleep disorder testing to collect accurate data.
- Perform physiological calibrations and adjustments as needed.
- Document baseline values and monitor study quality, ensuring signals are clear and artifact-free.
- Record observations, including sleep stages and significant clinical events.
3. **General Duties**
- Acquire knowledge of sleep medicine and various sleep studies conducted at Billings Clinic.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and inventory management.
- Follow Sleep Lab policies to ensure quality assurance and patient safety.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Enrollment in an accredited Sleep Training program is necessary.
