About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Heartland Veterinary Partners. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our veterinarians in delivering top-notch medical services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery, including outpatient exams, patient preparation, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, obtain blood and other samples, and perform in-hospital laboratory testing.
  • Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and lab equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians, practice team members, and clients to ensure seamless patient care and satisfaction.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds, with assistance for heavier loads.
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper PPE.
  • Basic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
