The Tax Manager is a key member of the Lanco team, responsible for overseeing federal, state, and indirect tax matters. This role requires a high level of expertise and organizational skills to manage multiple tax functions effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Federal and State Income Tax Matters: Oversee the preparation and submission of federal and state income tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Indirect Tax Functions: Manage sales tax, property tax, and VAT tax functions, ensuring accurate calculations and timely payments.
  • Foreign Tax Returns: Coordinate with outside service providers to prepare and submit foreign tax returns.
  • Review and Prepare Tax Workpapers: Review tax workpapers prepared by Avalara and staff, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Estimated Tax Payments: Prepare and submit estimated tax payments on behalf of the company.
  • Automated Tax Workpapers: Develop and prepare automated federal and state income tax workpapers for outside service providers.
  • Tax Depreciation Calculations: Prepare and run federal and state tax depreciation calculations using CCH FAM.
  • R&D Credit: Interact with service providers to ensure accurate R&D credit calculations.
  • Tax Audits: Assist with all tax audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Tax Notices and Inquiries: Respond to tax notices and inquiries from tax authorities in a timely and professional manner.
  • Tax Planning: Assist the Tax Director in tax planning, ensuring the company's tax obligations are met.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with all key personnel, ensuring seamless collaboration and information sharing.
Qualifications:
  • Accounting Degree and Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in taxation, with an accounting degree required.
  • CPA Designation and Graduate Degree: A CPA designation and graduate or master's degree in accounting or taxation are preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office software, E10 by Epicor, CDK, AvaTax by Avalara, CCH Tax Library, and CCH FAM.
  • ERP Experience: Ability to work with multiple ERPs, ensuring seamless integration and data management.
  • Organizational and Communication Skills: Strong organizational and management skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
